Our Flat

Well, it's Christmas Eve at 6:00 PM and we are FINALLY settled into our flat in Seixal Bay across the River Tejo from Lisbon! We are connected with internet and are totally unpacked! We went to a supermarket near by and are stocked up for the next few days since everything will be closed. Our address here is:

We are really close to the center of Lisbon. We walk 5 minutes to the ferry, cross the river (about a 15 minute ride), and then the Metro is right there for us. It is about another 10 minutes for Jared to get to the University and Archives, about 10 minutes this HUGE mall and cinema, and 5 minutes from the heart of the city with all the shopping, restaurants, cafes and night clubs!

Ahhhh!!

So the flight that was canceled ended up leaving on time - which meant we had to shovel, shovel, shovel and get Jared to the airport! After 2 hours of digging and a wonderful plow that came through, our friend Michael got Jared to the airport and he made his flight! Hurray! As soon as we are settled in Lisbon, we will post pictures of our place!

Jared's Flight...

Jared's flight has been canceled due to the 24 inches of snow we received over the last 24 hours! Maybe he can fly with me on Monday, but we really have no idea. Way to go, Blizzard of December 2009!

Our Going Away Party

Jared will be leaving on Sunday, December 20th and I will be leaving Monday, December 21st. We are busy packing right now and will let you all know our forwarding address in Lisbon as soon as possible!
